BMIT Technologies has become the first organisation in Malta to achieve the Microsoft Support Services designation under the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Programme.
The designation recognises partners that demonstrate advanced technical expertise and strong customer support capabilities across Microsoft’s cloud technologies. It adds to BMIT’s existing Microsoft accreditations in Azure, Modern Work, and Security.
The achievement gives BMIT direct access to Microsoft’s Tier-3 engineering teams, enabling faster escalation and resolution of complex technical issues for clients operating critical Microsoft environments.
Nick Tonna, Chief Revenue and Growth Officer at BMIT Technologies, said the designation reflects the company’s continued investment in technical excellence and provides customers with additional confidence in BMIT’s ability to support business-critical systems.
Sean Cohen, Chief Service Delivery Officer, added that the accreditation followed a rigorous assessment of BMIT’s technical and operational capabilities and strengthens the company’s ability to deliver high-level support when clients need it most.
BMIT Technologies serves more than 500 corporate clients and is Malta’s leading provider of digital infrastructure and managed IT services, offering cloud, cybersecurity, data centre, and professional IT solutions.
Hilton Malta recorded its strongest-ever revenue performance in 2025, contributing to improved results for Spinola Development Company Ltd, owner and operator of the Portomaso Complex in St Julian’s.
According to the company’s latest annual report, group revenue increased to €54.4 million from €52.9 million in 2024, while net profit rose to €9.6 million from €9.5 million. The improved performance was primarily driven by Malta’s record tourism arrivals of 4.02 million visitors.
Management noted that Hilton Malta achieved its highest-ever revenue, supported by higher room rates and sustained demand for accommodation services. The hospitality division generated €44.6 million in revenue, up from €43.4 million in 2024, while total hotel operations and management services reached €49.7 million.
Operating profit remained broadly stable at €15.29 million, while lower finance costs lifted profit before tax to €14 million from €13.6 million. The group also strengthened its balance sheet, with assets increasing to €243.6 million, equity rising to €159.6 million, and borrowings declining to €35.1 million, reducing the gearing ratio to 4.2%.
Looking ahead, Spinola Development remains cautiously optimistic for 2026, citing strong first-quarter trading and an encouraging summer booking pipeline. However, it noted that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could impact tourism demand through higher fuel and air travel costs. Despite these risks, the company expects the positive momentum to continue, supported by Malta’s resilient tourism sector.
